Hydrangea Magic

While searching for references for Charlotte's wedding I came across this breathtaking design. What brilliant modern drama!

I would style the bride in white but more evening gown than wedding dress, like these images.

Which does not necessarily imply contemporary, this lovely gown from 1959 could work gorgeously.

Burlap Burlesque!

Still agonising over nailing the exact concept for the wedding but I think I might be onto something here - Burlap Burlesque! And Charlotte, before you think "goeie going!" - remember it's all in the way we style it! Have a look at these pics. I'm intrigued by the high-low style and best of all at R8/m we can afford it!
I think this photo as a concept captures everything we have discussed and will definitely create a fantasticly romantic party atmosphere - utterly unforgettable. And isn't that what you want for your wedding day - not only for yourselves but also for all the special people who shared the day with you?
Back to the concept - the hessian speak nicely to the rustic feel of the venue but the rich application of it - swathes and swathes of it takes it to the glamorous high end - no barnyard here! Your dress is very glamorous and let's not forget - it invokes a rather naughty history and that's what inspired the burlesque aspect.
We'll be able to cover those unfortunate chair seats. Look at these pics:

I also love the printing on the sack and think we can take designs from you invitation and personalise it - create a type of monogram design for the chair covers and table cloths, as per these references.

Here are some pics of how hessian can be used for table dressing:

A conversation on burlesque will be incomplete without a nod to the divine Dita. Hope you like. Signing off.

Aisle decor

Lots of the plant material will have to come from my garden. We were thinking of decorating the rustic little chapel with wreaths. Some examples of the wreaths we will be able to create.

Flapper Gatsby Wedding

A wonderful example of a Gatsby inspired wedding.

Tuscan Thoughts

A few Tuscan wedding images which inspire.

Nailing the Concept

We are at a very interesting phase of the process - trying to nail the concept which will marry three very strong ideas: vintage + Tuscan + tight budget. The starting element is Charlotte's dress: an exquisite beaded flapper frock which belonged to her grandmother - such a happy dress with fabulous memories. Charlotte wants a romantic wedding in dreamy colours but how to marry that with the very rustic Italian feel of the venue? Here are some pics capturing the romantic mood.
